I would like to share a project that I am working on, it is a faux finish on my sister in laws counter tops, they are Formica and I have done a marble technique but I am having a hard time trying to find a sealer that doesn’t yellow and is also safe with food, any suggestions?

I did some research for a good non yellowing faux finish sealer for you and came up with: AquaThane™ & AquaGard™
“It is a clear, furniture quality, very durable water base polyurethane material. It is used as a clear top coat for maximum durability on any plain or decorative finish. AquaThane™ is a co-polymer urethane designed for a tough, hard, anti-yellowing finish coat. Use on cabinets, floors, tabletops-anywhere a superior, tough, chemical resistant surface is required.

Sounds like a product I am looking for, I do have a question however, about the smell, and is it waterbased? I need to seal a mural done on a bathroom wall, and would this be the right product to use. Thanks for any help.
Hello Lucy. I have not worked with this material directly yet, so I am not sure if it has a smell. But it is water-based, so I would imagine that the smell should’nt be too bad. You can also go with a water-based varnish for a sealer which would work fine in a bathroom and has no smell.
